Lumix S1H Panasonic – All Secrets Live

While the world is at a complete standstill, ideas, words, human relationships are moving fast in digital space at a bit rate. So from our devices we continue to make friends, deepen knowledge and develop new business opportunities.

This week I was a virtual guest of the friends of Panasonic Lumix Italia. The collaboration was born through Fowa Spa (reseller of Panasonic Lumix) with whom since last November I started a productive collaboration with a workshop in Sicily, one in Romania and other events around Italy where I could try the brand new Panasonic Lumix S1H.

A nice chat with my dear friend Luca D’Addazio (Trade Marketing and Product Specialist Lumix Italia) who has the merit of having involved me in this pleasant live streaming. I had the chance to tell about my work as a wedding videographer and the possibility to give some technical advice to the many fans of videomaking and video editing.

These are the main arguments for those who have not been able to see the live feed:

1. Identity.

Many people have asked me if my wedding videos have distinctive features or an “identity mark” and if it is important to have it. Of course, it is very important, but when you become master of the technique, it comes out naturally. I think photography in the video is very important. When I shoot, I always think about taking a photograph. And then, I like to play a lot with light and shadow. It’s an obsession of mine.

2. Camera to use.

Since I left my old Canon and switched to using the Lumix S1H, I have a lot more fun. It’s a bomb. When editing I can get all the effects I have in mind, because it gives you the almost infinite possibility to get a color and post production that I couldn’t do before.

3. Stabilizer.

The stabilizer, in some moments, becomes fundamental.  For a wedding videographer who has to run and follow the wedding couple, all this is fantastic. It really simplifies all the work for me.

4. Lenses and objectives.

Most of my wedding videos are shot in 50p and then edited in post-production in 25p timeline. I like to work without zoom with fixed lenses so I don’t get lazy and slave to comfortable shots. I like to move, shoot exploring new angles and new scenery and looking for new effects.
