For Love’s Sake is a very important worldwide community of wedding videographer. A few days ago it announced the winners of the 2019 Awards. We’re surprised but very happy to see that one of our videos, Waltz in Sicily, won in the “Best Original Story” category.

In this 2019 we have received various prizes and awards for our work but once again seeing our name close to that of the best wedding videographers in Italy and in the world is always a great thrill. .

THE FILM – WALTZ IN SICILY

The award-winning video, Valzer in Sicily, is the wedding trailer of an Italian couple in the splendid Sicilian town of Favara (Ag). It is a successful video because it has a soul, a clear and defined identity, based on a concept that becomes the leitmotif of the whole story; music, locations and protagonists, of course, are most important. As I told in an interview with For Love’s Sake, a few months ago (which you can find here) “[…] while I was shooting this wedding video, I was focused on all the emotions I was feeling at the time. “Sicilian air and scents, I heard the castanets and the friscaletti (typical of Sicily), I listened to the fantastic orchestra that played extraordinary music. At the same time I imagined how I should have mixed everything in the film”

In my mind I had already traced the path to follow: in this way everything seemed easier to us. Obviously, without a good subject and a good set design, the result would not have been the same. For this reason I feel obliged to thank the perfect organization of the spouses: the wedding ceremony in the town square, the orchestra with more than a hundred members, the presence of many elements of the Sicilian tradition. Wao! A perfect script!

During the editing phase, I remembered perfectly what I was thinking about and how influenced I was by everything around me. I was extremely enchanted, for example, by the elegance of the married couple dancing the waltz in the town square. In the video we absolutely had to try to recreate the same vibrations, we wanted to share them with those who were present and make them feel who they would have looked at.

Waltz in Sicily has won several awards in competitions with the best destination wedding videographers in Italy and in the world.

In particular:

• 1° prize IGHA International Golden Heart Awards Winter Edition 2019;
• 1° prize WEVA (The Worldwide Event Videography) category “Best Pilot”;
• Film of the day WEVA;
• Best film WEVA for 3 months (october, november, december 2018);
• Editor Choiche WEVA.

THE IMPORTANCE OF WEDDING LOCATION: WALTZ IN FAVARA

I would like to spend a few lines on the location of the trailer: Favara and his square. This small town in the province of Agrigento, since 2014, has registered a major European tourist exploit. Not randomly. Much of the credit is given to his Piazza Cavour and the Farm Cultural Park, an urban regeneration project, strongly desired – among others – by the groom of this video.

Only a few years ago it was a place inhospitable and forgotten by God; today it hosts small hotels, pizzerias, bars and taverns for tourists from all over the world. The Farm Cultural Park is a open-air experiential laboratory, where art, culture and creativity create beauty. A container of novelties, exhibition spaces, roof gardens, architecture schools for children, oases and riads of marrakeshian inspiration, shared kitchens, experiential gastronomic itineraries, music and dance performances and much more.
